It was during her own search to find assistance for one of her elderly family members, that Elizabeth Shewchuk recognized the need for non-medical home care for elderly loved ones, and founded Daughter for a Day.
Through her own familys’ situation, Elizabeth experienced that elderly family members want to remain in their homes as long as they can and decided that Daughter for a Day would provide the in-home care support, so seniors could do just that – as Home is where the heart is!
Elizabeth lives in North Vancouver and spends her free time exploring the beautiful North Shore area after moving to Vancouver in 2009 from Toronto. She is one of 7 children and has an aging mother who lives in Saskatchewan with a sister. Elizabeth is a grandmother of three beautiful little girls – Emma, Noa and Abigail and one incredible little boy Nathan (who has her number).
Elizabeth enjoys volunteering in her community as well as furthering her education; she recently earned the designation of a Certified Professional Consultant on Aging (CPCA) and is a Certified Dementia Practioner (CDP).
